Bill Laursen

Bill Laursen is not only a musician who knows where he’s been, but he also knows why, and he’s eloquent and eager to share these insights with us.  Like most musicians, his music is effected by his surroundings and background.  In Bill’s case, that is the blues and jazz of Kansas City.  Bill’s song list is filled with songs requested of him over his 25-year playing career in all the different situations Kansas City musicians find  themselves.  He always brings his Kansas City-flavored piano sound to bear on anything he plays.  

Bill will perform as a solo pianist/singer, or with other musicians to create a duo, trio, quartet or quintet.  

Bill’s song list ranges from jazz standards and ballads to up-tempo jazz and blues, the New Orleans sound, Latin jazz, swing and shuffles, contemporary jazz and even some pop and rock.
